Our Story
We are Michael and David Steinman, a father and son team that own and operate Iron Roots Woodworks out of Brooklyn Park Minnesota. We found our love of woodworking over the years building custom furniture for our family and friends. Seeing the joy that our creations brought we decided we needed to share our love of woodworking with others as well, and Iron Roots Woodworks was born.
Michael Steinman

From a young age, CEO Michael, was always taking things apart and putting them back together, fueled by his curiosity of how they worked. He quickly became the go to person in his family, along with his father, if something was broken and needed to be fixed. With an inventive mind he built creations with his father, like a water balloon catapult and glider plane launcher. He learned how to bring these ideas to life using the tools in his father's garage. This laid the foundation for what has become Iron Roots Woodworks. Michael still enjoys designing and creating new things everyday, when he isn't in the shop he enjoys playing video games with his friends and spending time outdoors.
David Steinman
(Co-Owner)
David is now retired after a 30 year career as an engineer in the food industry. He developed a passion for building things from spending time in his fathers metal shop as a kid. He started work as a welder and has since applied his hard work ethic to everything he does, including helping to manage both family businesses that he has started with his 4 children and wife. With Michael his youngest son, he is now able to turn his hobby of woodworking into a business, Iron Roots Woodworks.
